Someone on the armorama forum pointed out to me that the exhausts were attached wrong! I checked the instructions, and what do you know, the instructions are wrong! I had to correct them, but it looks a bit nasty now… and i thought the back of the panzer turned out the best! Oh well…

Some in-between shots; i added a wash with an acrylic based wash from citadell / games workshop. I never used an acrylic based wash before. The flow isn’t that great i think. Also i put on some oils using the dot technique.

More progress: -The decals are on, -wheels painted (painfull!) -wheels weathered -bottomhull weathered -part of the tracks is on. I tried to get some sag, but i see that it can be improved. Edit: to get the track to sag, just hold the long trackpiece between your fingers and carefully(!) bend. It will stay that [...]

I started working on the Pz IV again. I was really not ok with the way the camo looked, so i put on a couple of deluted layers of the basepaint by brush. I think it looks good now!

Added the “ziegelrot” color. This is also the basecolor i always use for primer red/oxide red parts.

Continuing with the green color… Today i camo across a wargamer’s site. The guy there had some models that had the camo done with pastels… Maybe i should try that? I’m not so sure about my own result with oils. Or maybe, i could do a combination. Oh well, i’ll finish this one with oils [...]

My try at a softedge camo with brush only. With macro it doesn’t look all that great to be honest, but in real life it’s ok.

The basecoat of the pz IV is now completely on.

I’ve been trying this for a while now. Since i don’t have an airbrush, i have to find ways by doing paintjobs with a brush. I’ve found the rattlecans wich eliminates the boring job of painting the base of an entire model with a brush. But the camo has to be done by brush. A [...]
