Welcome!

Let’s hope that i can complete more models in 2011, then in 2010… Only one was finished! My new obsession is panzerwrecks… but is also hope to finish some non-armor subjects as well. I still have my unfinished karmann ghia, a nephilim diorama, and a little dinosaur fossil (sort of) lying around…

I made some roofplating, probably not the right way to do this ;) but i couldn’t think of something else…

And a total shot:

The start of the roof:

I added something to the windows to make it look more 1940′s. I think it looks allright now. Also, i made a door. You can’t really see it on the photo, but the styrene was engraved with a steelbrush to make the woodpattern. Then i carved in the planks.

I like the door, but the ‘iron’ bars on the door suddenly look overscale… I may have to fix that.

I did the bricks again, this time with miliput pressed with reformed uses paintbrushed with their hair removed. It looks better now, still maybe a little overscale.

Next up: redo the window, then make a door.

I did some more work on the building. Somehow it’s not quite german yet…

I started working on a little vignette for the 251.
It’s going to be losely based on this building:

I started with cutting plates of styreen, roughening up the sides, and pasting them on a wooden block.
The plates were then smeared on with tamiya putted, then sanded. This gives it a concrete like texture.

After that i began the start of the (cut out) little building.

A little more work on the running wheels

Something else…

Something different. Sometimes i find something online that i didn’t even know existed and just HAVE to build it. Nothing WW2 related for a change. I’ll keep it secret for now.

Here’s the first pic:

I created the wheels using parts from a Somua S35 1:35 kit, wheels from a King Tiger 1:72, parts from a Horch 1:35 kit and using some styrene. Tip for the day: keep a BIG spareparts box!

Stowage

I made some stowage for the M3. Now that i look at the closeups, i think the rope around the blankets is way overscale…

I added some small things like more bolts, extended the case next to the front fender to the steppingplate, and added something that to me looks like some kind of frontaxle protection plate. I could be wrong thought ;)

I also added the bars on the side that can hold some stowage. I have no idea what it’s called. I added only half of it yet, otherwise i’ll have some problems painting.

Also, i added a weldingseam on the ditchroller, which may just be a little bit overdone ;)

On the back, i added straps and a bar to hold the straps to the baskets.

I used a better camera, so here are the pics;
